Followed this heron as it strolled along in the shallows.

    Cool photo!
There is a Big Blue Heron that lives at a farm pond down the road from my work shop. I love seeing it as I drive by each day. It is always wading around looking for bites of food.

You and I seem to share a liking for taking photographs of herons Kildale. They are such photogenic birds and I find them endlessly fascinating. However, I never seem to get quite as good pictures of them as you do. :(

I was once at a lake in New York's Adirondack region early one morning and as I looked into the calm water by the shore I spotted the tracks of a heron imprinted into the sandy bottom. The tracks spoke of his meandering trip around the lake in search of frogs and fish. An interesting chronicle that did not last long, as they were soon erased by the antics of frolicking children.

Nice photos of a special bird. I like herons too. I wonder where they find the patience to stand still for ages when they hunt. I would make a poor heron I'm afraid. :D
