I'm a married mom to 2 adult kids(20 yr step-son and 21 yr daughter) and 14yr daughter. I enjoy the outdoors and wish to learn more on plants and flowers to plant in my garden. Especially fragrant flowers and plants, like Lilac, Hyacinth, Jasmine and Gardenia! Although,I have to admit I dont have much of a green thumb! I learn mostly by trial and error.

Hi Tickkie, welcome to the Stew from north Texas.
We have such a wide range of gardening experience in our members, including some husbands who don't garden but support their wives in their fun.

Ask any questions you have and don't forget to start your blog, it's a good way to keep a record of you gardening progress.

A big welcome, Tickkie! If you're all about fragrance, I suggest planting thyme anywhere you can for year-round smell-goodi-ness. :)

Hope to see more of you in the Stew!

Hi there Tickkie!! :D Another warm welcome to The Stew - this time from Scotland.

Lexxie is right about thyme as it smells wonderful especially lemon thyme. I'd also suggest carnations and scented lilies and, of course, lavender and roses for beautiful aromas around your garden. Looking forward to hearing what you decide on.

Hi Tickkie! Wow, your name caught my eye, my last name growing up started with "Tick..." so I heard that nickname a couple of times, lol! I've been reading up on your area because DH is thinking about moving there after he retires in the next couple of years, so I'll be watching for your questions and maybe I can help!
