Wow, this site is fantastic! I've only been on for a few hours and already I've learned a ton of stuff. You are all so talented, creative and seem incredibly nice and helpful. I'm already itching to get started on some hypertufa sculpturing. I left the regular work force when my fiance retired and we spend a good part of our year out here in the Ozarks. The rest of the year we live in Florida - kind of 'reverse snowbirds'. We head back there in August and return to Missouri in January. Yeah, I know - we're strange! Anyway, now that I'm not stuck behind a desk I'm sitting behind a torch, making glass sculptures and happy as a lark! Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself and say hi!
Welcome Kat from a native Floridian now living in southeastern N. Carolina. Glad you have joined the group. Glass of all sorts is totally fascinating to me, I've watched some very talented folks do some amazing torchwork, I think it's something that I'd love to learn how to do myself one day. :-D

Glass Torchwork Zuzu: If you would really like to try your hand at glass sculpting, my teacher is currently in Myrtle Beach, at least until the end of October and she is fantastic, being a 35 year veteran of the craft and a third generation glassblower. Don't know how far from you that would be.
