Hello, It's been a while since I've been a member of a forum, but am really excited about finding this one. I am 27, originally from Texas and moving back in a couple of months. About a year or so ago, I got interested in trying out my "green thumb" and have since killed many plants  . My luck changed with a mini rose I planted at the beginning of last fall that I managed to save after the plant lost about 60% of its stems and leaves (I think there were four main shoots and only one survived). All through the rest of the fall and winter, it trippled in size and renewed my faith.

To make a long story short, I have about eight or so plants that are mostly doing well. I live in an apartment, so most of them sit on my balcony to get their sun. Now that I've added to my collection, I find myself checking on them all right after I get home from work.

I look forward to chatting with you all!

Hi Nancy, welcome to the Stew from north Texas.
There are several Texans here, so I imagine that what ever soil and growing conditions you find when you move there be someone here with first hand experience with the same ones.

Welcome! Hope you and your plants will enjoy your relocation in a bit, we have several Texans floating around here who have good advice for their zone, I'm sure they'll be glad to help you.

Hi there Nancy from a rather rainy Scotland. I've just read your blog about your plants and it certainly sounds as though that green thumb is starting to work for you. :stew1:
