Hi, everyone. I came across this site the other day and decided to join.

My husband and I have dabbled in gardening for a while but only last year went all out and started almost all our plants from seed. That's when the gardening bug really bit. :) My mother has been a great help and a wonderful source of knowledge and experience and is quite happy to see that I have finally, after all these years, begun to share her love of growing. I told her that it must have just taken those genes of hers a little longer to kick in. :-D

Anyway, I'm looking forward to meeting and chatting with you.

Hey Prairie Lily and welcome to the gardening gang here at GardenStew :sete_015: So glad you decided to join us, it's always great to meet new gardeners. I like the way you grew almost everything from seed. If seeing a plant grow from from seed to fully-grown plant is not enough to make anyone love gardening I don't know what it.

Nice to have another Canadian on-board as well. We need more of you guys!

Anyway just popped in to say hi and really looking forward to good times ahead :sete_003: :D

Hi and thanks for the welcome. :) Growing the plants from seed was really my husband's idea and I thought he was crazy at first. Ha! I love it now, too, so I guess we're both bloomin' crazy! :-D

By the way, I'm in Zone 2b so if anyone in the same zone has any tips or advice, I'd really appreciate it.

    Glad to be here!

I admire you for starting everything from seed. I don't seem to have the patience. I can't wait that long for results. Polly

Hi Prairie, welcome to GardenStew. I love to start my flowers from seed. I have been collecting seed this year from 2 types of petunias and browelia. I also have some canna seed and some seed from alstomeria (sp), the red and green type. We would love to see pics.

Welcome from the deep South! Can wait to see you pics and get to know you! This was my first year starting seeds too! But Im a second year gardener. Last year was mostly plants already growing or bulbs. Something different this year.

I lost alot of seedlings but I will try again next year!

Move south?? What, and miss our lovely prairie winters??? LOL!

It's nice to meet all of you. I'm getting some pictures together as we speak.... uh... type?? We also have a dog and 2 cats, by the way. Tending the lot of them keeps us busy and out of mischief (not really ;-) ).

Thanks! I really feel comfortable here, too. :)

Where are you in Michigan, if I may ask? I used to have family in Frankenmuth.
