    Hello everyone,

I'm so glad that I found this forum! My husband and I recently purchased a home in southern, coastal Maine with lots of mature landscaping. I'm probably what you would consider a novice gardener, but I do enjoy it. This yard has been so well planned that I am still learning what we have as something new is always coming into bloom. It is beautiful and inspiring.

I am looking for some advice about planting under existing, very mature trees and where there is exposed root systems. I would really like to create a privacy screening that would help block out neighbors on the one side and we have been restricted from upgrading to a 6 ft. fence. Part of this planting would occur under mature trees, partially shady conditions but without exposed tree roots. Any ideas where I should post this dilemma? Thanks in advance for the input!

Hi and welcome. I am fairly new here too, but have been here long enough to know, no matter what the question or issue, there is probably someone here who will be able to help! Happy gardening
