Hi everyone! I'm not very good at intros but here goes... Growing up, I remember my grandparents always having big, beautiful gardens every year...picking strawberries with my mom and grandma is one of my favorite memories. So, a few weeks ago, when I saw a teeny tiny tomato plant at a local store I thought it might be fun to bring it home and set it on the back patio. I guess I needed that little tomato plant to remind me how much I've always loved to garden because two weeks later and I have a full fledged container garden out back with lots of veggies and herbs. It's been quite a while though since I've had any plants here at the house and I'm sure to have questions about what I should (or shouldn't) do. This forum seems like a nice place to meet fellow gardeners and get some advice. It's very nice to meet you all! Vinnie
Hi Vinnie, welcome to GardenStew from north central Texas. Yep you found the friendliest place on the internet for gardening and just plain talking. Ask any questions you may have, if we don't know the answer we can certainly make up something that sounds real. Also, we love photos of plants, gardens, pets, local scenery...pretty much anything that we can ooooh and aaaaah over.
Hi there and welcome to GardenStew Vincenza. It sounds as though the gardening bug has well and truly bitten you. You'll find that from now on you won't be able to pass a garden centre or nursery without going in and having plants leap into your trolley. I look forward to getting to know you and, hopefully, see photographs of your container garden.
Thank you both for the warm welcome! It's already begun, Eileen...I went to a local home improvement store yesterday to pick up a new microwave and left with a beautiful new pepper plant and a bag of soil!
Vinnie, you have truly been bitten by the gardening bug--anyone who goes to a big box store to get a microwave and leaves with gardening stuff is our kind of people! Welcome, and we'll all help when we can, and offer encouragement and advice.
Welcome to the Stew Vinnie, from Colima, Mexico. You should be able to grow so many different things in the climate South Carolina has to offer. It sounds like you are off to a good start. Enjoy!
Hi Vinnie and a hearty welcome to GardenStew Thank you for your first hand account of being "re-bitten" by the gardening bug It has quite a potent bite. You have picked a top place to discuss gardening and meet many wonderful friends. Looking forward to having you here!
