My husband and I homestead on 58 acres of swamp and woodland in southwest Virginia. We've been there for three years and have cleared two acres to turn into a vegetable garden and young orchard. We freeze so much that we supply nearly all of our vegetables for the year, though we still buy a lot of fruit and staples. We do a lot of side jobs to pay the bills, though the farm takes up most of our working hours. I do web design and grant-writing while my husband is an inventor. It seems like all of his inventions are based on making me stop swearing during my farm chores. I look forward to swapping gardening stories with you folks! moderator's note: removed website link, see point 1.1 of usage rules
