I just joined this awesome place! I love plants but sometimes they do not love me! I would love to read what y'all talk about and see what I can learn. I'm looking forward to getting to know y'all! :-D
poodledoodlemom, Welcome to our friendly family. Go ahead and snoop around here. You probably will learn a lot about growing things and about it. The one thing you will hear over and over again is, we love to see others pictures. So get ready....
Hi pdmom, if you don't mind me shortening it. Welcome to GardenStew from north central Texas, Carrollton to be exact. Georgetown has it's own special growing problems with the extreme drought in that area but we can help you come up with plants that will take anything you give them....as long as they are Texas Natives. Have fun wandering around the forum, lots of things to read and photos to ooooh and ahhhh over...speaking of photos do you have any you want to share...plants, garden, soon to be garden, pets, local scenery.
Here are the tomato plants that I've started. I have no idea what to do with them now. Lol! Tomato seedlings ( photo / image / picture from poodledoodlemom's Garden ) Also I am starting new plants with a couple cuttings from one of my plants. I have no idea what kind of plant that is. It's almost died on me several times. I have to keep taking cuttings. My poor poor plants! Ha ha! Unknown plant that I love! ( photo / image / picture from poodledoodlemom's Garden )
We have herds of deer that love our neighborhood and our yard!! I'm trying to get my hubby to build me a deer-proof garden.
Oh yes, I have 2 deer proof veggie gardens. They eat my flower and other gardens. My hubby hates it but it is one way nature helps strengthen the plants. This Winter, enough is enough with the eating though.
I used to live in VA and PA. I have a friend who lives in Jarrell, TX and her garden is unbelievable - for her 2nd year! She's growing everything! It's in an old dog run. Maybe it's the fertilizer. Ha ha!! She's not that far from me. We have all limestone in our yard. It's everywhere!!! So I definitely have to build up. I just killed my like 5th cilantro plant. I don't know why they always die on me. It's very sad because I LOVE cilantro! So that's another reason why I'm excited to be here.
Hi and welcome... this time from SE Texas (down between Houston & Beaumont). You'll get lots of help from great folks here. I'd be totally lost without the Stewbies!
Welcome from Central Texas--a small farm about half-way between Temple and Waco. We are a fun and friendly group here, with some really great gardeners. You'll like it on the Stew!
I'm already loving it here! Everyone is so friendly. And that is awesome! (My husband is from Vidor - I'm embarrassed to say! Lol! We were just down there this weekend.)
Hi there poodledoodlemom and this time a big welcome from Scotland. Your tomato seedling look as though they're doing well for you. I hope you'll let us follow their progress with more photographs. Your first tomato is going to be the most delicious you've ever tasted! :-D
Hi poodledoodlemom (pdm), how's that for making it short? Welcome to GardenStew from Chelmsford MA. You definitely found the friendliest garden group on the internet. Whenever you need help we're just a few clicks away. My tomato seeds are just thinking about germinating. There is still a foot of snow on the ground and the seeds don't ski or ice skate. We thrive on pictures and humor. We really are glad to have you with us, welcome aboard. Jerry P.S. You have a cheering section for your tomato starts. Yea T….yea o etc. etc.
