Found this website through a Google search on growing crystals. I've tried all kinds of crafts, with varying degrees of success, but that never stops me from trying something new! We have a garden that is mostly shade. I am a plant collecter, but can't really call myself a gardener (been there; killed that). Janet

Hi, Janet and welcome to the Stew. You found just the right place for growing things, crystals or plants. Sympathy to you on the "garden killing" thing. I think we have all been there and done that. you are no better or worse than us. Try it again. we will all cheer or lament with you. Carolyn
Hi Janet from a Stewer in Wisconsin. Glad you found this super friendly community of folks from all over the world. This is a very diverse group of crafty, funny, helpful, flower and veggie grows, and so much more. Welcome aboard.
Hi Janet, and welcome here! I live in Missouri now, but am originally from Reading PA, not too far from you. Glad to meet you. I think all of us have "killed" stuff in our gardens, including me. Last summer I killed some rosemary, lethodora, tomatoes, and a bunch of other things. Lots of things grow anyhow, and we just keep on trying. It took me over 20 years to get hollyhocks to grow for me, and they did well for 5 or 6 years, than last summer they all died off. I have no idea why, but earlier this winter, I found a few new hollyhock seedlings in one flower bed, so I HOPE they grow and thrive forever now. I will keep planting them, along with lots of other things! At least the onions and garlic are doing nicely.
