The temperature has dropped to 53F/12C since I got up this morning so that is nice.
The rain started about 8 this morning and in the 4 hours since then has dropped 2.5 inches/6.35Centimeters with heavy rain still falling and more coming our way all day and thru tonight. At least now it is too cool to worry about tornadoes  But there is a chance of hail later and of course more rain.

Because of it's see thru quality, water is a little difficult to photograph ;) but these spots of my yard are under about 1 inch/2.5 centimeters of water. I won't have to water the garden for a few days

That looks wet! I hope your plants will drink to their hearts' content and reward you with even lovelier blooms than last year.

I just ventured outside wearing my new wellies and under an umbrella to empty the rain gauge. 4.5 inches / 11.4 centimeters as of now, 5:30. They just extended the flash flood warning thru Thurs morning.

Looks like we are getting the bad stuff this time Glenda. Guess it's our turn after all the times this heavy rain went to the south and east of us.
Several roads are closed because of high water and DFW International Airport has pretty much been closed down all day...that's going to cause a whole lot of headaches for travelers.

But then, this is (almost)spring in north Texas.

Good grief, Toni! It looks like Holland there at the moment. I had to chuckle though when I saw the garden hoses lying in the water. ;)

I am determined to finally buy a hose reel this year, I am so tired of having to loop it over the wall mounted hanger. I have unkink it to put it up and then unkink it again when I take it down to use it. Therefore it lays where I drop it. :stew2:

That's a heck of a lot of water Toni. I notice a dishevelled gnome in the second photo, I wonder what he makes of it? Your yard is beautiful.

Thanks, I love the way the garden looks in the rain.

The rain is over, I can't find a cloud in the sky this morning and the sun is so bright it hurts the eyes.
And I swear I can see my plants growing as I look at them.

My yard received 5.75 inches of rain yesterday, that's over 14 centimeters. I won't try to go out there this morning, that black clay has great sucking abilities when it is wet I might never get unstuck.

I did see 4 of the yellow Dutch Iris about to bloom this morning, I will take pictures when they do.
