I've been having problems with Photobucket so wasn't able to post all my holiday photographs. I've now uploaded them here for anyone who wants to see them. Any questions just ask. http://www.flickr.com/photos/16084044@N06/
Lovely photos Eileen! Lots of wonderful photos of animals ... are those black swans? What is the statue of the 2 hands in handcuffs? And what are those caves? What is that silver pipe sticking out of the pavers?
Netty they are indeed Black swans - from Australia. As to the manacled hands I'm afraid I can't tell you what they are meant to be as the plaque was in Dutch but they are intriguing aren't they? The caves were the underground workings of a limestone mine. We were told that they house thousands of rare Pond bats. However, there was no guide to show us around and they didn't furnish us with a flashlight so we couldn't see the roosting bats. Such a shame as it was really expensive to visit the mine. The silver 'pipe' was actually an electronic parking device that lowered into the ground to let you out of the hotel parking lot. Ian thought it had gone all the way down when he drove out. It damaged our car althugh it was nothing serious. Thankfully he only popped a few screws holding a plate that protects the engine from getting dirty from underneath. We took the picture just incase we needed to make a claim through our insurance. By the way the large prison in a few of the photographs was actually an hotel that we stayed in.
Great photo's. Loved all the wildlife and those handcuffed hands grasping each other. Very interesting.
I see no Holiday photo's?? oh perhaps you mean vacation? when I hear holidays, I think Christmas etc.
Great pictures Eileen,..i viewed them all in full screen as well,..i was going to ask about those caves but Netty had the same question,..and yes glad you took a shot of the electronic parking devise,..just in case. Philip
For such a quiet zoo it seemed like the animals didn't seem to mind too much Eils. Some lovely wildlife shots there. Thank you so much for uploading your Denmark trip for us!
