Hi all, Well we're home safe and sound. I've just been trying to catch up on all the posts but have given up. Gosh you lot have been busy haven't you? Our trip wasn't exactly a total success but at least there were no broken bones this time. I do have a few photographs to share which I'll post later.. I'm going to finish unpacking and catch up on the washing which I'm really looking forward to - NOT!! Ian's off on a trip to Newcastle with CAMRA so he gets away with helping.
I am glad you are safe and sound........I will check back for the pictures and to find out what did happen...
So very glad the trip went better than last time. CAMRA sounds like an interesting group, I didn't realize there was a threat to real ale.....I love Guinness but haven't found the other brands available locally.
What a relief! We were all hoping you would have a good trip, and also hoping that you'd make it back home safe and sound. Are you sure CAMRA is really having a trip, or is Ian just hiding out until the laundry is done? Newcastle, is that the home of Newcastle Brown?
Yes Jane Newcastle is the home of Newcastle brown ale. Ian goes out every Saturday on trips for CAMRA. He has (or so he says anyway) to sample different ales to let them know what he thinks of them and how well they are selling. Long gone are the date nights we used to have on a Saturday!! Obviously real ale is far more attractive than spending time with me. My daughter came through to visit though and we had a lovely day together with nothing stronger to drink than a cuppa. We got a take out so no dishes to do and I used Ian's card to pay for it - revenge is sweet.
Uneventful is good and I'm glad you had a nice time. Haven't you ever been tempted to help Ian with his beer evaluation?
Nah. I'm T.total and would be bored out of my mind. I much prefer to stay at home even if it does mean I have to do housework.
