I've posted this formula before, it works great!

    1 tablespoon 15-30-15 Miricle grow
1 teaspoon Epsom salts (magnesium sulphate)
    1/2 cup hydrogen peroxide
Add to 1 gallon of water shake and apply

I planted bachelors buttons and nasturtium 3 days ago and there already up.
It's cheap effective and you probably have all the ingredients in your house.

Double, double, toil and trouble, an interesting concoction that I will have too try. I can't pass this one up. Experimenting is fun.

This works on established plants too. My roses and tomatoes get feed every 2 weeks with this. There's nothing like a little experimentation. Plus the peroxide kills molds/fungus in the soil. The best part is peroxide turns into plain water. You need to use the mix right away though. Peroxide degrades rapidly in sun light.

    Here is my data
3 days ago the seeds were planted
    Daytime temps were 78-84deg
    Night time 50-60deg
My "concocktion" was the only hydration
The soil was cheap potting mix
The bachelor buttons and nasturtium are 1" tall today.
I'm sure the warm temps came into play.
    Have fun!

Jerry and Cheryl, These ingredients really do work. Both are beneficial for the plants. Whenever I soak my sore weary feet in epsoms salt I always dump it under my japanese maple. The peroxide is used as a fungicide in my amish seed catalog. they sell it by the gallon jug. I should have thought of it when I posted my algae question several months ago. I totally forgot about it being used as a fungicide.

I'm starting a recipe file for all the good ideas in Garden Stew, and this one is going to be in it.

How about starting a "Garden recipes" or "Recipes for your Garden" discussion? We could get all these good recipes, including RJ's, into one spot and we could print them out.
I'm thinking about a 10% milk solution, the insecticidal soap recipe, garlic/pepper spray, and any others that we may know of.
