We are fortunate to live in the Land of Lakes. Two large ones are close by. There are hundreds of smaller fishing lakes in the region. We don't travel, or take holidays away from home. We take time when we can and go fishing. Sometimes we take tents and camp on the lake. There can be some boat traffic from tourists in the summer, but most times it is peaceful with no other human beans.

Some pictures of our holiday fishing adventures this last month.

More recently there is a lot of smoke, but it did lift eventually.

And dinner from yesterday! They were all about 1 1/2 to 2 lbs.

Very lovely landscape and trout foto’s. That is beautiful country there. What a great place to hang out and relax. I like your special place and those chairs. We have similar ones, light weight and a heavier weight. They are handy. We sat in ours down in the harbour at the recent concert.

That is great catch! What are they? I've never fished the ocean - that is a beautiful spot.

Those are Mackerell, they come up the English Channel in the spring, then go back down in the Autumn. But there's usually plenty of schools of them hanging around in the summer.

You can catch them from the beach, best in the evening as they start to chase the smaller bait fish. My PB in one session was 98 fish

I was at Lyme Regis in that pic, lovely place :)

This is a fantastic photo. :) It would be wonderful to hear those waves and smell the ocean. It looks very breezy.

98 fish!!!! Holy smokes Zigs. That is a devoted fisherman's day. I have had smoke Mackerell, and canned as a child. Never fresh. That would be very exciting to be there during a run.

You might get a better feel for the place from this video I made from when I lived nearby...

They filmed The French Lieutenant's Woman there.

I used to smoke some of my fish, but there's nothing like a freshly caught Mackerell :)
