Does anyone grow honeyberries? I am thinking of getting a few, but was wondering if anyone has actually tasted these berries? I hate to spend 20.00 on each plant to "see" if they are keepers.

My sister and BIL have a few plants. I helped my sister pick them. Most of them were ready at the same time. I didn't eat any when we picked them. She made a pie but I did not taste it.

They have their plants planted near their blueberry plants.

Mart, I grew ground cherries for a friend last year :smt009 . I wouldn't eat them if I was paid. Now I do remember having gooseberries growing up and I liked some of them, but not all of them. some were bland some were tart.

Deanna, I saw these a few years ago in the Millers catalog and keep thinking I am going to get a couple. Then I picked up a cooking/gardening book and they were given a mention there, too. So I am hoping there is someone who has at least tasted them and has a positive leaning toward them.

Don, Can you ask her if they like them or if they are a so-so flavor? thanks
