Thanks for asking.I am ok Capt. by the hair of my chiny chin chin.It missed us by about 4 or 5 miles. It litterly flatened and area about 5 or 6 miles from my home and we had some bad injuries not sure how many yet .The tornado came through a path exactly like it did in 1989 or 90.
Wiped out the same ranch as before and took out all those huge power lines and poles one more time. Demolished a bunch of huge chicken houses. There was deaths back then and by the grace of God not any yet this time but clean up is rough and roads closed for 2 or 3 days.I rode it out in my liitle guard shack with lightning popping all around me.

We are OK here, Capt. It has been raining steadily for over 24 hours now. The ground is completely saturated and flooding has started. Fortunately the heavy winds/storms seemed to be north of here, but it is way too warm out there for December.

I am happy that you are okay, both of you and the others, too. Tornado's are as scary as hurricanes in my book. I lived through a couple of those when I was a kid. Dooley

We are OK too, we just have to change the name of our place from Bowlin Acres to Bowlin Lake for awhile. The worst of it went to the west and north of us, but we did get some very heavy rains.

Tornados can do really weird things. When I was a kid, about 10 years old, my next older brother and I were home by ourselves. We had a storm come through and we were upstairs in our bedroom, looking out a window facing south. All of a sudden a funnel dropped from the sky and took the top off of the neighbors corn crib. It sucked all the corn out of the crib and then dropped the top back onto it. You couldn't even tell that anything had happened to it, except the ears of corn were missing. No other damage was done to any other buildings.

I wonder what your neighbours thought had happened to their corn when they found the crib in tact but empty!! Thank goodness you boys saw it happen as it would have been a real mystery otherwise.

Dallas county averaged 3 inches of rain, most of the really heavy stuff split and went around us on both sides. There were a couple of funnels spotted in the air near DFW international airport and people in the terminals were evacuated to the underground shelters. There were no flights coming or going, the airport was basically shut down from noon to 10 p.m.

There hasn't been a tornado in this area that damaged anything since March 2002. That night two hit residential areas in south Fort Worth and one large one did a "hop, skip and jump" thru downtown Fort Worth. As the statisticians are fond of saying....this area has been quiet for so long that we are due for a big one.

Yup, was north of us as well. Boy did I find out what the low spots in my yard are though. Suppose to rain some more. I don't mind too much but the warm weather puts me on edge when it rains. Not use to that here yet. I feel warm air and see rain and think tornadoes. Gotta learn to relax my dh says.
