Yesterday when we were at Lowe's in Bryan I bought two delphinium for half price each. I don't know anything about them except they get tall. How big around? How much space do they need between them? I paid $2.50 apiece. I also bought some SunPatiens. They are like impatiens but the take sun and will bloom all summer it says on the label. They were two six paks for $5.00. It says they get 18 to 14 inches high and spaced 24 inches apart. They grow fast and tolerate cold down to 32 degs. I hope it doesn't get that cold again. I am wondering where I will put 12 of them, too.

Dooley I know a little about delphiniums so I hope I can help you out.

Mature plants can fill a space that's quite large, sometimes as much as two to three feet wide so I'd leave plenty of space between your two.
They also need plenty of food and moisture (but without getting waterlogged) a rich soil and plenty of sunshine.
The blooms tend to last until about the end of August then the flower heads need to be cut off to prevent it from self seeding. Let the plants die right back and then clip the foliage back to ground level. They should sprout again next year. These plants ten to grow very tall so you may need to stake them.
Oh and keep an eye out for slug and snail damage. These wee beasties love the new shots of delphiniums so much they will lay their eggs beside them so that they can gorge on the new growth when it appears.
