I know its too late for this year, but we always have such a bad problem with stink bugs that I would really like some fresh ideas on how to deal with them. Our tomatoes and okra were eaten up with the big black plant bugs and the southern green stink bugs this year. I tried hand picking but there were so many of them.
A question about how to get rid of stink bugs came up on the forums recently. Check out this link: http://www.gardenstew.com/about23770.html
I had to resort to a chemical kill this year. There were so many of them I couldn't keep up with hand picking them. I used eight dust and sevin, alternately several times this year. They ruined my zucchini crop and the early pumpkins and squash, as well, from the infestation. I didn't even worry about getting any squash from them, I just ended up spraying to kill the pests.
