Here is an interesting article I just stumbled across about how insects view flowers differently to us: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/ ... ly-us.html
Strangely enough I was having a conversation with John (our beekeeping neighbour) a few days ago about exactly this subject. He plants flowers in his garden that are especially attractive to his bees and other insects. I knew that insects could see in ultra violet and the reasons why it is so beneficial to them. I didn't, however, realise just how beautiful an insect eye view of our flowering plants was.
That was interesting Frank....bees don't bother me but the small grandkids go ballistic when one flys near them....I tell them the bees like the flowers better than them and to quit flapping their arms to upset or make the bees mad. I love yellow in the garden and have a lot of it.
