    so far this summer?
We've had 21...and it's only mid July. Last year we had 23 from May-October.
The biggest thrill was when we had a Regal Fritillary visit!
Unfortunately, the #'s of this variety is on a steep decline... :(
The host plant for this variety is violets.
Here's a pic of our visitor...

Oh, I love your flutterby! :stew2:

The only butterflies I have seen so far is the white cabbage butterfly and a yellow swallowtail. When the butterfly bushes bloom......which should be soon, the Monarchs will arrive.

I sure would love more flutterbys in my gardens!

It's been on the chilly side for you up there in Ontario this year. I'm sure you'll start seeing more varieties on your butterfly bush soon! :)
By taking pictures and recording them in my gardening journal, I'm able to keep track of all the butterflies...the ones that return from year to year and new/rare varieties too...

I've only seen cabbage butterfly's (moths?) and one Monarch. It's been way too wet and cool here this year!
