We went to a place called the Cabbage Hut...or no, actually, the Cabbage Shed, for lunch yesterday. It's claim to fame is really good Borsht. And man, is that ever true!! What struck me too are their lovely gardens..someone definitely has a green thumb! And in particular, I got quite a tickle out of the way they grow their herbs! The place is right on Betsie Lake and is very picturesque. The restaurant itself, pretty unassuming from the front. But then the view of it from the lake side, and the view from the deck...all just lovely. We sat out on that deck and had our lunch. Oh, and of course that amazing borscht! And the lovely gardens, complete with unique herb growing containers I mean, really, how clever and appropriate to have a restaurant right there on the lake, with old canoes as herb growing containers!
