We would prefer to stick to paint as I've just spent 2 days stripping the wallpaper, which was an awful job! We've also sanded and re-varnished the floors. As you can see it's a long kitchen. The extended part is airy and bright, and the other half has big walls and is quite dark. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of collours? We would prefer something a bit more exciting than a shade of white. We have a lot of black cutlery / kitchen utensils so we would quite like it to tie in with that, although black goes with most colours. I would appreciate any colour advice. Many thanks.
Welcome, I wouldn't go with anything too dark as it make make the kitchen appear narrower. Just a thought

This is what we did when we remodeled our kitchen a couple of years ago. The colors in your kitchen reminded me of ours so I figured I'd post this pic. It is an easy technique that required one gallon and 2 quarts of paint...each of them a different color. I get a lot of compliments on it. If you'd like more information, just let me know.
