i have some ruts in my yard from where a tree used to be, it was cut down and now the roots have rotted and left a "dip".wut is the best way to fix it,and when is the best time to fix it?
I am no lawn expert, but you could skim off the turf, fill the dips with some top soil, firm it well down, the relay the turf so the lawn is level. Keep well watered and keep of it for a while until it is actively growing and needs cutting. OR....if it is only a shallow rut, you could top dress it by filling in the rut with a mix of top soil and sharp sand, ontop of the grass. So long as it is only a thin layer, the grass will grow through - again keep off it, and you can do this throughout the year until the lawn is level. Hope this helps!
i was thinking about that but i didn't know if it would work(plan number 2)i just might give it a try! thanx!
