Is there a way to get seeds from my current Impatients or Petunias and use them to grow over the winter?

If so, how can I get them? I like the flowers I have this year and would like to try and grow them for next year. Any advice would be appreciated.

Impatiens will not come true from saved seed. They are all hybrids. To keep that strain, you have to overwinter cuttings.

On the petunias-they will get a small seed pod when their flower has dried up. Leaving a small pod with tiny seeds inside.
