Saw on the news this morning where several people have been arrested for looting in Moore Oklahoma. Here are people that have lost everything but there lives, and 24 lost even that. And people come in and loot the wreckage? How sick can these people get?
There was looting in West, Texas also until the police got a cordon established. Looters are not sick, just greedy and completely amoral.
It happens in all disasters. A few people seem to think its all up for grabs. It would be nice to think they were helping with the cleanup but it's not so. dooley
We have a Lady here that runs a "Rescue" she is begging for Hay and money to buy Hay for 20 head of horses she says FEMA is sending her!! My Daughter called FEMA and asked about this!! They said NO we are not sending 20 head of horses to Utah. Seems like she is using that disaster to get hay and money from people for ER own gain. I hate people like that. Greedy!
I've never been materialistic and would rather help those poor families out than think of stealing what little they have left. I really don't understand greed on this scale and the lack of humanity shown by the looters.
But, we have to remember the thousands (literally thousands) of people who have donated to explosion and tornado relief, who showed up to help in any way they could, and who organized transportation of truckloads of supplies to the affected areas. Some people, like the looters, are pond scum, but most people are kind, generous, and caring. Those of us who are in the kind/generous/caring camp get much more than the looters ever will.
Looters are thieves and it's really cool that they caught them before they could steal from anyone else. I hope they put them in prison for a long long time!
As there is nothing I can say other than I agree with every one's thought...what scum! I feel so bad for these people. We have horribly cold weather from the same weather pattern and all I keep saying is I would rather be cold than have NOTHING after the storm went through.
Lot of people do not care any more. Just their own gain. Had that in Cedar Rapids--floods 0f 08.anything and everything .Copper pipes .
The kind and generous people who give of themselves, their time and their money, WAY outnumber the looters and the opportunists. Unfortunately, as with many things, the few bad apples taint everything.
Have helped with Habitat .And makes me sick. Should make them help clean up. in orange jump suits-Looter on back of suit. in big letters.
