The on-going half price sale sign at the big nursery has been replaced with prices of plants. :stew2:

I haven't seen the big semi-trucks unloading plants yet, but it can't be far away. :stew1:

Around here I know it's getting close to plant shopping time when the greenhouse gets the snow plowed from the parking lot! That usually means the workers are going to start planting :)

It's always plant shopping season for me. They are open year around here. And I love walking through greenhouses.

Today I bought more seeds (Italian purple basil, a red tipped leaf lettuce, Roma tomatoes even though I swore to give up on them, and more flat-leaf parsley seed). I was sorely tempted by the bare-root roses, but resisted (if Cheryl can ignore bulbs, I can resist roses).
Each time I pass the local greenhouse/nursery, I ask the good Lord to please send spring soon! I need a "green fix."

Well... I couldn't pass up that rack of bulbs a second time! So I picked up three Amaryllis. Now I need to stop and get some potting soil.... maybe I'll find something else to bring home with me. :stew2:

Garden center people magnets…they attract people traveling by. They are disguised as sale signs. They put them up each spring. If installed correctly they get you into the center and you find it hard to leave. Garden centers sell small ones too, for your garden. Installed at the end of each row they make you want to work in the garden. Cheryl is the perfect candidate for a garden center people magnet. :)

So true Jerry. And if they have a mark-down rack... the magnet is three times as strong!
Case in point... Picked up 4 things today $3 each.
I was recently commenting about liking to try a Camellia. So... I picked up one. And a Plum Fringe-flower.
So... I'm standing in line at the check out and it hits me... plant sale at the church will be coming up. So I go back and get another Plum Fringe and a different variety Camellia.
I'll read up on both Camellia's and decide which one to keep and which to sell. :stew2:

The garden centres here have their loads in over. I have already made a couple of rounds of the 50% off tables.
That Plum fringe-flower looks interesting. I would like to see in in your garden in bloom/ Good luck.

    I'm in the mood!

The temptation is just going to get worst. To cold today so I went shopping.
I bought Himalayan Blue poppy seed, grape poppy seeds, baby romaine lettuce seeds, red cypress vine seeds, two pretty pot for my deck and new chair cushions for the deck.( our deck cushion box leaked and ruined all my old ones). Hubby bought a retractable awning for the deck. Now if we only had some warm weather I could be sitting on the deck drinking a glass of wine.

    Answer:

You know it's the right time, when at close inspection of the garden, your eyes are instantly drawn to the empty spots and your brain creates word baloons with pictures of plants that would fill up those spots just nicely.

This morning, I noticed the first semi-truck at the "big" nursery unloading new plants. :stew2:
