Welcome to the Stew from Texas! We fight bugs and heat, too, but with the help of great gardeners here, we are holding our own.
We have an "Evil Roy" member, and now a Viceroy. We're getting downright ROYal!

Hi Viceroy and welcome to GardenStew from north Texas.
Okay, don't be shy, there are things we need to know....what kind of gardening do you enjoy, do you have any pets, hobbies and we need to see photos of gardens, pets and hobbies ;)

Gardening in Florida is unique isn't it? I lived in West Palm Beach for a few years and I swear if you put a toothpick in a pot of soil it would sprout roots and leaf out.

Thank you all for such a warm welcome. I garden for and photograph butterflies. I raise caterpillars. Those are my hobbies in a nutshell.Viceroy was a nickname that stuck,as that is one of my favorite butterflies.

I live in Kissimmee and growing here has had it's challenges, Humidity, soil, lots and lots of rain at times, and of course extreme heat to name a few. You also never really know when your season is over or beginning, but depite all that things seem to do well once established.

I will post some pictures soon.
