Saw the first hummer at the feeder this morning for this year. It got up to 85 F. yesterday and I thought then the hummers should be back any day now.

Capt. no hummers here yet. But we do have an abundance of other little furry friends. The White crowned sparrow, White throated sparrow, song sparrow, chipping sparrow, Purple finches, house wrens, Rose Breasted Grosbeaks, tree swallows and Blue birds just to name a few. It is such fun to see all these migrants return for the summer.
I love watching them all. I will keep my eyes peeled for the hummers. Usually they return about the same time as the Baltimore orioles do. So far I haven't seen either. Don't you just love spring. :stew1:

Last year I saw my first hummingbird on April 29. I've had my feeders up for two weeks. Any day now.

My hummers have been back for nearly two weeks, and NOW it is COLD and was snowing about 60 miles from here...It was in the 30s and cold rain all day. Poor babies. I have a feeder out for them, but they were not at it today. I hope they are keeping warm in my extra bird houses?

I have my feeder under a squirrel baffle. It gives the hummers a dry place to roost and eat, plus it keeps the rain from diluteing the food mixture!
