Hi all: Today I had and an AHAH moment. I was poking a toothpick in and out one of the flower port holes to try and clean them out on my humming bird feeder. As I was muttering to myself about how hard they were to clean. The idea came to me to try the little brushes I get from the dentist to clean inbetween my teeth. I thought they would be just the right size for cleaning out those little holes. :-D They work super. Here is a few pic's of the little bristle brush cleaners I get from my dentist. Great idea! I don't get those from my dentist but I have seen them in the stores. I use toothpicks too and its difficult!
I agree - a spendid idea!! I think I'll try to pick some of those up as well. They will come in handy for cleaning the holes in my bird feeders and sooo many other things that I can think of. Thanks for the tip Tooty.
Well, you just solved a problem for me! We have lots of those stashed in the bathroom (our dentist is big on giving out freebies) and I had never thought of useing them for the feeder ports. Thank you, and our hummers thank you!
This idea is a definite keeper. I always have problems cleaning the holes in my feeder. My cleaning kit will now feature these brushes. Great Idea. Jerry
Thank you everyone for the kudos on my brush idea. Yup they sure are handy little things. Post what else you find to use them for.
