I don't know the source of these pictures, but a friend E Mailed them to me. They are supposedly from Louisiana. I thought they were interesting.

Those are amazing photos Tom! My Hummers don't let me get anywhere near that close to them! Those photos get me to thinking that I had better clean up my feeders and get them ready!

    Hummingbirds...

What a cute picture, thanks for sharing! :-D

I wish ours were that subdued. Instead,
they zoom past our head like dive bombers.
I swear, one of these days I'm going to have
a hummingbird stuck in my head.

They are very brave here, and if you allow the
feeders to run low, they sure let you know about
    it.

Gosh, those photos are just magic!

The hummers here won't even share their feeders with each other!
Like Wuvie said, they're very aggressive.

We are so happy to even see a hummingbird. It would be a miracle to see one that close.

I am so envious! I haven't seen a single hummer since we've moved here even though I've religiously kept a feeder out. I keep hoping.....

LOL wuvie.. i giggled about you saying you were gonna have a h bird stuck i your head lol. Maybe its just the Oklahoma birds that are that way?! I have mirror tented windows on my west facing windows so my hum feeder is suctioned right on the window. I stand there face to face and they dont even know it! :) My sis held one the other day. She said she holds the feeder and they land on her finger and drink from the feeder. Ill take a pic tomorrow if i remember (from my window).

Oh to have exotic little birds like that in my garden!!!! I've only ever seem hummingbirds in a zoo - not quite the same thing as seeing them in real life.

"I swear, one of these days I'm going to have
a hummingbird stuck in my head."

Wuviie if that ever happens please make sure there's someone around with a camera handy - it would make a great caption competition!!!! :D :D :D

Beautiful birds. They can become friendly if you have the patience. I've had them buzz me close when wearing a loud flowered dress.

Wow, it's like my idea of the perfect world, where hummers land on my hand! I had no idea they could get so comfortable with people, though the ones here often hover in front of my face, like they are scolding me for interrupting their garden time.
