With the cold weather the birds are getting more daring. The hummers food was frozen so I had the chance for some pics as I changed the feeders. These Anna's stay the year round and some days its pretty rough for them.

How I'd love to say that I have hummingbirds in my garden all year round. Sadly though, here in Scotland, there's no chance of seeing one unless I go to a butterfly farm where they have them flying 'free.'

    An excellent close-up Kildale. :-D

Our hummingbirds are mostly migrants, so we see them twice a year, coming and going. We have some ruby-throats that stick around all summer, but leave in the fall.
Until ours arrive, I'll just enjoy your lovely photo!

I wonder if they make heated humming bird feeders. I'm surprised they don't migrate when its cold. no flowers no nectar. Great picture!!
