We were out in the yard talking to our neighbor and watching the hummingbirds fight over the feeder. Our neighbor had to take his feeder away because bees were thick around it. They never bothered ours so all the hummingbirds were trying to eat at it. I now have two feeders. The tulips line the walk in the herb garden area. The daffodil is one DR especially liked. So, those are my pictures. Dooley
Love those Hummingbirds! Nothing so exotic here in Essex, just blue tits, robins and finches zipping around! Love the tulips also. Mine always look fab in year one, then vanish without a trace! I blame my swamp like garden! Thanks for sharing Dooley!
Wonderful photographs Dooley. Wish we had hummingbirds in our garden. Your tulips are beautiful and DR is quite rightly proud of his daffodil.
Lovely photos Dooley!! I hope the hummingbirds return to our area soon!I've been keeping the feeders full, and hoping every day.I really miss the little guys when they are gone!! Your tulips look beautiful and DR's daffodil is beautiful also!!
Right that's it, I've really got to see a hummingbird in the flesh (feather?) now! Loved those pics Dooley. Are you sure those tulips are safe with a certain four legged mischief-maker around?
The four legged mischief maker isn't allowed in that part of the yard, if you are thinking of Chance. Her yard expanded because she is allowed in the new garden. We fenced off the flowers. Usually if she is allowed in the yard we fence where she can get into trouble. Dooley
I hope your hummingbirds come back soon. Ours stay all year. We have about 8 or 10 right now. There are several different kinds now because some are moving through the area. Mostly we have Anna's. There are about 20 to 30 in the summer. They are so funny to watch. They make feeders with four or more feeding stations but it's rare to see them all used. They chase each other away and dive bomb each other. When the feeder goes empty they dive around my head until I go and fill it. They chitter and fly around you when you are sitting outside. Dooley
