On September 23 the hummingbirds left. I always record the date in a journal. When I recorded the date I checked last year's and 2012. Both of them were September 23. Last year I was sitting in the living room and noticed a hummingbird hovering in front of the window. I thought it was saying goodbye for the year. And this year I was in the kitchen and noticed a hummingbird hovering in front of the dining room window. I think he was thanking me for keeping the hummingbird feeder full all summer. lol.

    My maple tree this morning.

I had a "mini" stroke on Saturday afternoon. I lost a quater of my right eye sight. I love to read and I can still do that. My eye doctor said most of my sight should come back.

Donm, Oh I am so sorry about your news. Of course, you know that news hits home very hard. Please do what the doctors tell you to.

Call me if you ever would like to talk. My number is very easy to find.

Hello Don-- I was sorry to hear that you had a "mini stroke". I sincerely hope that you will eventually have no residual imparement.

Thanks for posting the pics of the maple and hydrangia.

Wasn't that interesting behaviour the hummers displayed. I think that it is cool that you record dates of natural events. When one looks at the "big picture" and trends such recordings can be important and helpful,

    Chapeau, mate.

So sorry to hear about your eyesight... hopefully you'll regain it.
I think you hummingbirds came here... I typically have 2-4 of them... but yesterday, I counted 10!

Yup Donm our hummers are gone also. I think they must have left on the same day or just before that. I need to get in feeder and put it away for the year. God's speed on your recovery. :stew1:

I saw my last Hummer on Tuesday - that was the 23rd! Now I'm curious as what day they left last year!
Also wishing you a speedy recovery.

Gee Don I hope your vision returns completely and you are addressing the reasons for the stroke. I think our hummers are gone as I have not seen one in several days.
