These are just a few of the humming birds we would get each year in Missouri at my house on Lake Taneycomo. I think they all followed us here, because we have even more. At least 2 months during the summer, I have to make 2 gallons of hummingbird food a day. [/img]
OH WOW!!! How I wish I could see all those hummingbirds in real life. What is the liquid food you use to fill the feeders with? Is it a sugar/water feed or is there honey incorporated in it?
I mix mine 1/4 cup sugar to 1/2 cup of water. Heat in microwave for 1 minute and then add 4 ice cubes to cool it. And that comea out right at 1 cup of food.
I've never seen so many Hummingbirds at once catspower! Do you have a lot of gardens? What attracts so many to your area? I can only dream of so many in my yard!
I can call that a swarm of hummingbirds. Great job Catspower on being able to attract so many of them.
That's an awesome sight! We get lots of them here, too, but I've never had so many at one time at any of my feeders. Maybe if I put several together in the same area like you do I'll get lucky and attract a swarm! All are gone from here now, and have migrated to warmer weather down south.
That is just awesome! I have never seen that many feeding in one place! What a great picture. Do you have that many feeding very often?
How lucky you are to have those lovely birds visiting your house. I am really envious, have only ever seen them on film. Thanks for sharing the photo with us
I use 5 cups sugar per gallon of water with just a few drops of red food color. Nuke it, cool it, fill feeders, and repete.
Wow! I get 4 or 5 at a time, but they spend all their time chasing each other away. I only ever see 1 at a time actually eating at my feeders. You are very lucky. I won't see any more now until spring. Thanks for sharing.
That is so neat to see so many of those little beauties at one time..Here we don't get that many at one time..
