September is Hunger Action month. One in eight Americans go hungry, including children and the elderly. With cut-backs in federal aid, charities are struggling to feed people. We gardeners do what we can--helping at food kitchens, donating produce, setting up community gardens, and giving money to food pantries. If you can, please help the hungry. We are so fortunate to go out to our little patches and pick fresh vegetables and fruits. Not everyone can, but we can provide for some of them. Let September be the first month in your activity that alleviates hunger.
Lovely thread @marlingardener helping others who go without and struggle Our food kitchens here in the Uk...can't get enough of food to help feed the homeless on a daily basis and it's getting worse by the day it shouldn't be happening at all.
Guess we do not have much of a problem here ! You know the luck I have had with giving away free food ! Not that I have any this year. Didn`t even plant a garden !!
In 2018 it’s disgusting to have hungry mouths. They probably got fed better just after the war. This government, any government should be ashmed. We don’t see them fat bloated wasters starving. K
Kate it's make the poor (poorer) and the richer (richer) here in the uk and the amount of millionaires here in the country good restore our country better in no time...instead of adding themselves to advertising for donations it get me mad mate
