This is another of my favorite combinations: Orange tiger lillies growing in front of blue hydrangea. I like the hot orange with the cool blue.

    A few others...

Echinachea pupurea, Monarda Bee Balm... and my favorite Shasta Daisy...

Thanks for the nice comments. It is so fun to show flowers to people who really appreciate them, isn't it?

I wonder why you havent' had luck with hydrangea Stratsmom? Are they tempermental? I don't do anything special for mine. Nor does my neighbor. When he first moved here a few years ago, he was about to chop up his hydrangea bushes because he didn't know what he had -- they looked awful, practically killed off by vines and stuff. We pulled all the vines off and trimmed them up and they recovered and look great again. He has the best in the neighborhood after all that neglect. Maybe you are too nice to them, Stratsmom? I water mind if it looks wilty...

I love orange....I have a lot of the ditch lilys too. We call them that here..in fact someone sent me some from another area and they are exactly like what I had..just a different name for a different area I guess. Anyway I love them and I have them all over the place.
