    Hello Everyone
I've been away for a while helping my older daughter and her family - she was ordered bed rest for a couple of months and I stayed with her. On the 1st of March my beautiful granddaughter Maddison was born and I am grandmother now! They both doing very well and me and my husband so happy to see them both healthy. Me - I am ok, practical, but my husband I think "gone off with the fairies" - nothing is good enough for Maddison and can see him spoiling her all the way. Is there a school or a course for a new grandparents - I've never played this role before and now have to find my way around.

I have to catch up on all the reading, see all the pictures, welcome all new members - a lot happened in the last couple of month and I am looking forward being busy.

    Love Lara

Awww, (((warm hugs))) to you Lara, and Maddison and her mommy and daddy,
she is just too precious for words.

    Hehe, no worries,
I don't think you'll have any problem settling right into "doting grandma mode". ;)

Congrats Lara... or I should say Granma Lara.
The funnest thing about grandparenting is that you don't have to be so strict with dietary rules or bed times. Of course within reason, but all those things you couldn't let your daughter do because you had to be a good mother you can now let slide sometimes because there are different rules at Grandma's house.

Also, no matter what someone tries to tell you a newborn can NOT be spoiled by being held as much as possible by a grandparent.

My son-in-law had problems adjusting to what grandparents do because he never knew his grandparents. Lisa was very close to my parents when she was young so she knew what to expect from me when she had my grandsons.

Have fun with this new stage of your life.

A beautiful granddaughter, Gramma Lara. You will learn to spoil her by tomorrow, or probably already have.
