This morning I sat down with my packet of seeds from Pepperdude and my Burpee 2009 catalog. I have begun to plan what seeds I need to order. I am going to try and start peppers this year. I have just ordered 2 more heating pads with the seed starter kits so that I can get the soil warm. I can't wait to start growing. I remembered the plant tags that Pepperdude (I think it was him) posted last summer using soda cans that were cut up and then the name scratched into. I am preparing and ready to get everything started.
I spent last evening scrouing thru some seed catalogs too. I have a large order ready to go to Gurney's and one for Michigan Bulb. I also have some seeds from Pepperdude. I have quite a few packets of seeds I collected last year that I need to sort thru. I guess some need to be test to see if they are still viable or need to be replaced.
wow, you guys are good! I don't even know what I'm going to tackle this year, other than, of course, tomatoes. Maybe lettuces. And onions. Well, that's about all my raised beds will hold, but I do want to get more violets growing. I'm going to be searching for types I don't already have, and planning my switch over to mainly herbs in the front beds...
I have a bunch of tomato seeds from Pepperdude that I can't wait to try...and I am ordering my good old stand bys...romas, yellow pears, and a couple of nice looking larger tomatoes...I will also put in sugar snap peas, kentucky wonder green beans, and some heirloom cucumbers...I can't wait to get started!
Hmmm... Why not make a list of what your looking for. Who knows someone may have a few extra that they can share?
Lucky you, who is able to sow. I can never get the hang of that. I'm so looking forward to everybody starting their season, because then you post photos of your babies and I can sit here and look and dream.
I think Pepperdude has a fantastic idea. I always have seeds left over and just hate to waste the little things. Why don't we start a leftover seed exchange? Those tomatoes sound delish, GM. I sent for some heirlooms too.
