If you do not see to many post from me is because on May 5th I fell and broke my knee cap in half. OMG. I could not believe it.
We were suppose to be celebrating our Granddaughter 1st birthday. Went out to a restaurant for brunch. I was going to the ladies room and stepped on some water on a very well varnished wood floor. The rest is history. :'( :'( My hubby and I didn't even get a chance to eat. :(
So after they put me in a leg brace at the emergency room, we drove an hour home. Then on Monday I went to the doctor and was scheduled for surgery on Tues.
I am on the mend and will start therapy the 29th of May. Up until then I have to use a walker as I can not put any weight on my leg. The leg brace makes it an adventure just going to the bathroom.
I will thank you all now for your prayers for a quick recovery. I can not sit to long right now. But this to shall pass. :stew1:

Oh dear Tooty that sounds very painful. I do hope your recovery is a fast one and as pain free as possible. I hope the restaurant will pay any medical expenses you incur - after all there shouldn't have been water on their varnished floor. Take care and look after yourself.

Hugs and prayers from me too Tooty.
Ouchie. And yes, the restaurant should cover all your medical expenses and then some.

[a neighbor who is a cabinet maker once cut his kneecap in half with his circular saw... He is the only other person I know of with such an injury.]

Tooty, some of the most comforting words in the Bible are, "And it came to pass," not "it came to stay." At some time, in the very near future I hope, this will be just a memory. However, until that happens we'll all be thinking of you, hoping you recover quickly and that the therapy goes well.
A note to the restaurant about their maintenance practices might be in order, too.

Tooty2shoes, Sending you blessed prayers for quick healing and less pain.

And 2 other things, you shouldn't let things go with that restaurant ... you should make an impact on what they should do correctly. Make a big impact....REALLY..

The other, that little granddaughter...did she have a very good 1st birthday.....one that YOU will always remember, right????? You know, she won't.... :D :D ;)

Thank you so much everyone for all the prayers and well wishes.
I am feeling a lot better. Not much pain in the knee but still putting ice on it to get the swelling down to a normal looking size knee.
The restaurant owner did call me the next day after it happened to say how sorry they were. They were at their sons soccer game. They do have insurance, so I am sure that our insurance company will get a hold of them.
Boy it is so hard to just sit. I have been playing cards with my Mom who has been here helping out the last few weeks. Reading, watching TV, do some bible studies. But my butt gets sooooo ouchie. I guess I am a pain in my own butt. :D
Well I better get back to the couch and get that ice on. I will be starting therapy next Friday. I sure would love to hire someone to come over and plant our veggie garden since I won't be able to get out there.
Again thank you all for the wishes and prayers. I know they are helping. :stew1:

Maybe if one of us lived close enough, we could help out with garden chores for awhile ?

My son's inlaws are in South Range. How close is that to Denmark, Wisconsin ?
