I posted this topic on a friends forum and thought you might like to see it too.

I never even contemplated that I might get stung in the process of taking these piccies as I was so absorbed in seeing what was going on. However, none of them paid me any heed and I thoroughly enjoyed my day with these useful little visitors.

WOW! That's incredible! I've never seen anything like it. I love bees but I think that would totally freak me out :)

Wonderful bees.My dad use to keep bees.If he found his are another bee swarming he would go get a hive and start pecking with little metal pipe and they would come to the hive and go in.I thought it was amazing.

Absolutely amazing. What a sight to see. I would have been slightly scared, but enthralled I think. Thanks for remembering your camera. :)

Amazing photos Eileen but I think you were very brave :D Such a joy to see the bees though and to think I was getting excited the other day when I saw just one alight on one of my roses :)

Thanks for this posting, Eileen. It is an amazing story.
I think that it would be a good idea for you to start beekeeping. You could just add that to the long list of other talents that you have...and now is a time when bees are in trouble and can use all the help that they can get.

You're a hero, Eileen. Now those bees not only have a new home but they'll be pollinating like crazy. Gold star to you.

While reading about your adventure with the bees, I was wondering to myself if I would be as brave as you were. Walking into the midst of a swarm of bees would take a lot courage.

Holey cricket crap, lady! You sure are brave!! :stew2: '

    Amazing pictures.

My in-laws had a swarm land in their back yard a few weeks ago too. They took up temporary residence in her birdbath (which was empty of water).
Luckily they had a neighbor who knew a beekeeper. They came and took them to their new home. :)
It is good to know that bees are still doing somewhat okay, since there has been such a problem with the die off.
