I ate unripened persimmons first thing in the morning without knowing we should only eat ripened persimmons.
Eating many unripened persimmons on AN EMPTY STOMACH gives us serious health problem.
Please read below carefully to avoid same mistake I made.

Unripened persimmons contain the soluble tannin shibuol, which, upon contact with a weak acid, polymerizes in the stomach and forms a gluey coagulum, a "foodball" or phytobezoar, that can affix with other stomach matter.[12] These phytobezoars are often very hard and almost woody in consistency. More than 85% of phytobezoars are caused by ingestion of unripened persimmons.[13] Persimmon bezoars (diospyrobezoars) often occur in epidemics in regions where the fruit is grown.[14][15][16] Diospyrobezoars should not be of concern when consuming moderate quantities of persimmons.

I needed to rush to drug store to buy laxative to get rid of what I ate and several days,I had digestive problem.

OH! sounds painful. Sorry that happened to you. I knew you shouldn't eat unripe ones, but had no idea what would happen if you did. I just thought they would be unpalatably(is this a word) sour. Hope you feel better soon.

I am happy knowing I completely recovered and feel great!
Now I know better than eating unripened persimmons on an empty stomach.

Poor thing :'( ...as someone with a sensitive stomach issue (allergy to sulfites) I sympathize to the max...I wouldn't have known that about persimmons and really do appreciate you giving the caution here.

How in the world did you eat them ? They are nasty tasting when green. Love the wild ripe ones though.
