today was great! it started out with a delicious lunch at my parents house. so my mom and i took a walk down by the bayou and the neighbors wanted to donate a few plants to me. this is what i ended up with.
byzantine glads, daylilies, texas star hibiscus - this looks like an illegal plant!, forsythia, amaryllis, 2 big lilies..

    same load all spread out.

Dad and I built a little squirrel /bird feeder and i put it up in the front yard
    [IMG]
he gave me the idea to stick a couple of branches behind there for the birds to perch on.
I hope you can see the branches OK

then... i come home and find out my pic was chosen!

I'm so thankful for this day :)

Courtney it certainly looks like you made a good haul with those plants.
I have one of the Texas Star Hibiscus too out by the back fence....chain link fence and I keep waiting on the gas meter reader or someone to call the police on us for growing one of those illegal plants. Our neighbors wouldn't turn us in, they would be sneaking leaves off the plant instead.

Your big lilies are crinum lilies. Sounds like this was your lucky day.

I fixed this up for the squirrels on the opposite side of the backyard from where the bird feeders are. The green tray on the side opposite the corn cobs is filled with sunflower seeds.
They eat the corn and start on the cobbs if I don't replace them quickly enough but I have not noticed them preferring it to the regular feeders.

    Good Luck
