We went to Lowe's to look at flooring for the bathroom, and of course I had to wander through the garden section. SALE TABLE! I got two nice crotons for $1 each, and a six pack of red geraniums for $1, and a one-gallon New Guinea impatiens for $3.
They aren't bad looking--just need a bit of dead leaf removal and a good drink.
Now, where to put them . . . .

Woohoo, way to go Jane. I was at Lowe's last week but didn't find any sale table, guess it's time to go again.

I have a doctor appointment on Wednesday at 9:30 am and another at 1 pm. I bet I will have time to go to Lowe's between them. dr wants to look for a yard walk thru gate there anyway. Maybe I can find a sale table!!

Hmmm….. maybe I will have to travel to Texas to find all these bargains. :)
I wonder if I would have to buy a ticket back for each plant? Maybe they could sit together. :) Maybe I should check out our local big box store first. One of my plants informed me that they don't serve plant food on flights. :-( I wish the snow would melt, none of the garden centers are putting out plants yet much less bargains. April approaches and still there is 6" of white stuff on the ground.

Jerry, the only reason that these plants were on the sale table was the hard freeze we had about 10 days ago. Some of the leaves were damaged by the cold, so off they went to the sale table where a kind and caring (ahem) gardener would find them and take them home to recuperate and have a long and happy life.
The white stuff will go away, your stores will have plants, and I'll be envying you your greenery in July when all here is brown and dessicated.

Hang on to your seat Jerry. You are going to get it tonight. Maybe after you are all cleared out you can go see if they have anything on sale.

Yep... proud of you Jane. Nice finds! I was at Lowe's today and picked up a few things for $1.00 each. Not a wide variety, but things like Petunias, Inpatiens, Cannas (which I got a few of since they are Yellow).
Hang in there Jerry and others still in the grip of winter... your turn will be here soon. :stew2:
