Here, it is the person whose birthday it is that gives or pays for drinks, cake or dinners out. So, in that vein, I am offering you guys this feel good song. It is played by musici in about thirty countries. Great music and they even had the theremin player participating.
Enjoy this, my friends...I hope that it brightens up your day.

The theremin... I loved it in the theme song for Midsomer Murders
Never was much of a Beach Boys fan....too old for them I guess. It (the theremin) was part of the music for Forbidden Planet and The Thing (the original with James Arness as the Thing,..

I think I've never before seen a cello played to a Beach Boys song! It's also nice to hear singers who do not sound like screech owls in heat.
Thanks for the day brightener, Sjoerd!

Toni, that Midsomer Murders theme song was what got us looking into what instrument made that sound in the first place. It is such an interesting instrument. You said that the theremin was used in the film, “TheThing”, was that the original black and white film or the more modern re- make? I had not noticed it when I saw the film.

Glad you liked that vid, Jane, it brightened my day too. And then the old band cartoons. Too funny. I really appreciate your humour.

The Beach Boys deserved a slot in one of my jukeboxes.

I recorded these nearly ten years ago on an old camera, the audio isn't as good as those videos I made more recently on a better camera.

This is on the reverse, so It's what was known as a "double A side."

Parts of both recordings have been used as the music in TV commercials, they are that universally popular.

Hey Riley, i watch both vids and enjoyed hearing the songs. I think the Beach Boys have a unique sound. I like most of their numbers. Thanks for the vids.

I'll give them Brian Wilson's song writing abilities, but the harmonies are based entirely on these.

I know those guys. I agree with you on that, actually. In fact I think that I heard an interview with one of the Beach Boys once where he said exactly that.
Still I find their sound different in a way. This sound of theirs seems to have developed into a “ sound” , some have called the “California sound”, proceeding to the Pixies later on. I like some of their music as well. I think the newer sound of the Pixies and similar bands became known as “ Surfer music”, or something like that.
