It was my birthday and started out with a beautiful card from Mike ( he had already got me the liner, pump and filter and is going to dig me a pond). Then we met with friends for coffee and I was treated to hugs, cards, and 2 new gnomes! One is holding a mug of beer and a sign that says 'Beer Garden'. That makes 4 drinking gnomes that I have so they will surely liven up my yard. The other gnome has his pants down, bent over and a motion sensor so anytime someone goes by he makes the sound like he is passing gas! I think he will fit right in with the drinkers. Then Mike took me shopping in the 'big town' and I bought some plants for my shade pots and he treated me to lunch at a nice seafood restaurant. When we got back to our town we stopped at the local pub and I had a birthday drink and another friend met us and gave me a heavy duty rake but the rake part is only 8 inches wide and it has an extendable handle. Perfect for raking between perennials plus a beautiful floral glass bird bath and stand and a terra cotta bunny. Our DD fixed us a really nice meal the night before as she had to work the next day and my gift from her is a beautiful glass and copper bird feeder. I don't think this birthday can be topped! I feel very blessed with family and good friends.
Certainly sounds like a superior day for your birthday. You need to add your b'day to the GardenStew calender so we will know about it ahead of time next year.
I didn't realise it was your birthday yesterday 2ofus. Do please mark it on our calendar as we don't want to miss it again. I'm so glad you had a lovely day and got lots of great goodies!! How about a little peak at all those wonderful birthday gifts you got? (hint, hint.)
