Because I have had to slow down and take care of my bad back, I had to figure out a way to get outside and enjoy nature so I have taken up photography as a hobby. I really enjoy riding around the countryside looking for old barns, shacks, or anything interesting to photograph. Here are a few of the photo's I have captured so far.

    Hya,

Second image, red tree looks like an Acer Grandaddy.

If you don't know Acers/Maples. I have permission from a friend to keep this image.

Now if only mine would grow like that.

The image of my friend's is called Acer Bloodgood.

    :D

I love the pics of the old barns and sheds. When I have the painting urge, I like to paint old barns on full sized roofing slates. Have sold quite a few of those.

Love the old houses and barns! Looks like some of them could have been taken right down the road from me.

Wonderful shots. I like the look of old houses and old barns. Tell us who lived here before us-in a manner of speaking.
Your house looks very fiestive for the holidays. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, all of the pictures that I have posted so far were made with my little Kodak Easy-share 6mp point and shoot digital camera. My wife just bought me a Nikon d3000 SLR camera for my birthday and I am getting a telephoto lens for it soon. I have taken a few pics with it but I have a lot to learn about it to really get the most out of it. Stay tuned there will be lots more to come :D

I love your new hobby! :D What adorable shots you've taken so far. The beauty of the derelict houses and barns, the colours and that cute little chap at the end. I think I need to visit Tennessee some day.

I really enjoyed your post - beautiful shots.
Photography is so rewarding. When I see those shots
of old homes and barns, makes me think of all the
hard working people that made do with what the land
had to offer and their hardships.
And that little guy at the end is such a QT.

These are really nice GDC. Your 'Tennessee shack' photo is particularly nice. I hope you continue with your new hobby.

I love it that you are taking and sharing pictures of old buildings and barns. They are little snapshots into history and there are few of the structures around any more. Very nice job!
