After six months of looking I have finally found a job. so our and a half drive one way, Last November my company that I was working for relocated sixty additional miles away from it's current location, that would mean and hour and a half drive one way, and with the price of gas of gas being what it was then and now, I couldn't afford it. I took the option of a lay off...for the past six month I have interviewed for various jobs and was told I was either over qualified or under qualified...I was getting so discouraged when I got the phone call last Tues. for an interview, I then received a phone call two days later, (thurs.) and I started working on Friday. I am so happy to be working again. Don't get me wrong, I loved spending the time with Gavin but I am the type of person who needs to be out of the house on a daily basis. Wish me luck on my new job... :smt024

Great news. It's still tough out there for many, and jobs are scarce. Lots of factory workers around us have lost their jobs, and many were very close to retirement which is unfortunate. I can't imagine ever retiring completely, and will have to keep myself occupied with volunteer work or something to get through the long winter months. Enjoy your new adventure!

I've been retired for several years. I've done volunteer work and now am working part time. I don't believe there is any such thing as retirement. I'm happy that you have a job again and one that you like doing. I hope you are there for a very long time or as long as you want to be. dooley

Well things seem to be working out for me at the new job, everyone is so nice and friendly... The mechanics are very helpful too, I have worked for a company that was building rail road cars, but I have never worked in a repair shop before, so I'm lost, but I'm learning with the the help of the guys...
I do miss spending the time with Gavin during the week though, I know he misses me... :stew2:

I'm glad you're liking it. Settling in takes time, and leaving small ones behind is no fun, but you'll both adjust. Your co-workers sound nice, and that's very important too.
