Good heavens, that would have scared anyone to come home and see that image imprinted on their window.
I had never heard of the powder that protects growing feathers. I think I'll go out to the coop and shake a chick.

Can you imagine how fast he/she was flying to leave that kind of an image on the window? I hope it is okay too, any injury would likely make it prey instead of predator. :(

Now that is totally bizarre, do you think this is real or a hoax? How could it have left this image and not died as a result of the impact. I'm very skeptical that this is real. sorry.

I've had the perfect imprint of a sparrowhawk on my window before and the bird must have survived as I found no sign of it in the garden. Nearly had me jumping out of my skin though when I heard the thump it made on the glass.

Having rescued many birds from encounters with large plate glass windows i can say the image is astounding. Most times the smudge is at an angle, not straight on. Glad the owl seemed to survive.

Cor! It must have been flying at a rate of knots when he collided with that window.

Awesome! I sure hope the bird was okay also. I have had wrens with a nest in my window fly around the house and complaining if my cats were out. They would find the room I was in and set up very loud squawking until I brought them in. Of course, my cats would try to get at them through the window. I have had friends with large windows and birds flew into them.
