Down by the basement door, we have a retaining wall made of wood. And it's really turning rotton after about 15 years. So we are having it replaced. We are having a manufactured stone retaining wall put in and a 6 ft x 8 ft pation by the door. I went and bought the blocks and pavers today and they will deliver them tomorrow. Then I can call the landscaper and let him know the material is on hand. They expect to start installing it mid Oct. I will take pics of before, during and after!

I think it will be money well spent CK as a retaining wall made of wood that is rotting doesn't sound too good. I look forward to seeing piccies of the work entailed.

We'll be doing stonework this fall, too...extending our side walkway with lannonstone and building a front walkway out of brick. 20 yards of soil coming first to correct the grade. My back's already aching! Good luck with your fall projects.

I'd love to see photos of the process/final results. We have a large retaining wall that needs replaced, so we're looking for ideas!
